About Merv

Merv TuplinMerv Tuplin is a retired public school teacher/counselor who began his career in Saskatchewan, Canada in 1963. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Edmonton, Alberta, where he taught school in the elementary grades before moving “up” to junior high school. He eventually left the public school system for a 10 year stint as facilitator/supervisor for a large number of home education students across the province. During this time, Merv realized that the majority of problems he encountered were related more to unresolved family issues than they were to educational difficulties.

Merv ended his 35 year career in the teaching field in 2001 when he turned to full time Biblical counselling as a ministry. He and his wife Marion, live in Edmonton, Alberta.

Family:

Merv has been married to his wife, Marion, since June 1974. The Lord has blessed them with three children and seven grandchildren.

Several years ago, they went to a CFTH  in-depth training during which they had one hour of personal counselling which changed their relationship in a very positive way. Sometime later,  they undertook a week of Caring for the Heart counselling which had a profound effect on their marriage. It was amazing to learn just how deeply unresolved childhood hurts could damage hearts and in turn have a negative effect on future relationships.  It is the Lord Jesus Christ, the Great Physician, Who is able to heal those hurts and conflicts, bringing individuals hope and healing.

Both Merv and Marion believe that God has specifically trained and called Merv to sharing this model of counselling as a ministry to others who are hurting.
